Maria Kennedy, Dietitian

Qualification & Education

Maria is a CORU Registered Dietitian and current member of the Irish Nutrition and Dietetic Institute (INDI). She completed her BSc in Human Nutrition and Dietetics at Trinity College Dublin & Dublin Institute of technology.

Experience

During her training she gained valuable experience across a range of HSE settings including large teaching hospitals and community centers. On completion of her studies, Maria began her career in a research role at the Department of Clinical Medicine in Trinity College Dublin in an area of Public Health. From there, Maria spent time in one of Ireland’s peripheral hospitals where she provided nutrition advice to a range of clients in various medical fields such as cardiology, gastroenterology, endocrinology, surgery and care of the elderly, and has worked with patients to help manage various medical conditions including diabetes, irritable bowel disease, overweight/obesity, malnutrition, high cholesterol, and heart disease.

She has worked as a private practice dietitian, conducting consultations with a wide range of patient types including weight management, type 2 diabetes, PCOS, plant-based diets, IBS and sports nutrition. She is passionate about educating clients about the impact of diet on their overall health and wellbeing. Maria firmly believes in a patient first approach, and aims to empower her patients by helping them to implement dietary changes that suit their individual needs and lifestyle..  

Interests

In her spare time, Maria loves being outdoors and enjoys hiking, running, and cycling. She is great believer in a holistic approach to health, and appreciates the importance of nourishing the body and the mind.
