Qualification & Education
Katie completed a BSc (Hons) with first class honours in Human Nutrition and Dietetics from the Technological University Dublin/Trinity College Dublin.
Experience
Katie has spent the last four years working in Ireland's Specialised Weight management clinic and Bariatric service. These years has resulted in considerable exposure and experience in the complex management of individuals living with overweight and obesity with multiple co morbidities and disordered eating.
Katie is Scope certified: an internationally recognised certificate in obesity management awarded by the World Obesity Federation.
Katie has completed her Guided Self-Help for Eating Difficulties from My Transitions (a company created by experienced Psychologists and Dietitians).
Katie has also completed all three levels of Behavioural Change including Motivational Interviewing and Cognitive Behavioral from Behavioural Change Training(BCT) and in house training with clinical Psychologists.
This experience, along with her long-standing interest in the psychological side of nutrition has led Katie to specialise in supporting individuals who have developed a challenging relationship with food; providing a compassionate, non-judgmental and realistic dietary approach when working with clients.
Katie enjoys spending her spare time with friends, cooking and spending time outdoors.
