Qualification & Education

Clara completed a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics at Kings College London in 2013. She graduated with a Master of Science degree in Gastroenterology, with Distinction, from Queen Mary, University of London in 2018. Clara is a CORU registered dietitian and a member of The Irish Nutrition and Dietetic Association and The British Society of Gastroenterology.

Experience

Since graduating, Clara has gained a wealth of experience working in both the private and public healthcare sector in the UK and Ireland. Following her initial post graduate training, Clara pursued a career in Gastroenterology and has since worked at two specialist centres for gastrointestinal disease in London and Manchester. During her master’s degree Clara completed research looking at the relationship between weight loss and survival in patients with cancer of the oesophagus and stomach.

Clara has expertise in managing a range of nutritional issues relating to; diabetes, heart disease, cancer, weight loss, food intolerances and gastrointestinal disorders including irritable bowel syndrome, inflammatory bowel disease and coeliac disease, amongst others. Clara has extensive post-graduate experience in the area of gastroenterology and is trained in the delivery of the Low FODMAP diet for management of functional bowel disorders.

Clara has a keen interest in health promotion, education and the use of nutrition in the management and prevention of disease.  She enjoys educating and motivating individuals to achieve their goals and believes that balance, consistency and hard work are integral to long term success. Clara enjoys cycling, yoga and cooking and she likes to travel in her spare time.
