According to the  Irish Nutrition and Dietetics Institute, a Dietitian is a health professional who has a Bachelor's degree specialising in foods and nutrition, as well as a period of practical training in a hospital and a community setting. It takes at least four years of full-time study at a university to qualify as a Dietitian.  Many Dietitians further their knowledge by pursuing a master's or Doctoral degree. Dietitians apply the science of nutrition to promote health, treat and prevent malnutrition and provide therapeutic dietary guidelines for patients, clients and the public in health and illness.

The title "Registered Dietitian” and "Dietitian" will be protected by law so that only qualified practitioners who have met the required education qualifications and continue to maintain their knowledge and skills through continuing professional development, can use that title. CORU is responsible for regulation of health and social care professions under the Health and Social Care Professional’s Act, 2005, in Ireland.  Dietitians have public protection as their mandate. Dietitians are held accountable for their conduct and the care they provide both through the regulation process and also through membership of the Irish Nutrition and Dietetic Institute (INDI). All members of The INDI are bound to comply with the code of ethics and professional practice  

The term Nutritionist is not protected by law so people with different levels of training and knowledge can call themselves a "Nutritionist".

You must pay after each appointment, unless you have made other arrangements with our Patient Services team beforehand. You will get a receipt at the end of each session which can be used for tax or health insurance companies. Please check on the payment methods accepted in each clinic.

Only those who are in 3rd level education with a valid student card can avail of our student discount price.

Those with a valid medical card may also avail of the medical card rate.

You must present your medical or student card on the day of consultation in order to avail of the discount.

Employees (and their families) of companies who have signed up to our preferred customer programme can avail of the Preferred Customer Discount.

Approved clubs who have signed up to our club programme can avail of the Club Discount.

Discounts cannot be awarded retrospectively.

General Returns

You may return your purchase for a full credit of the purchase price if the items are returned within 30 days from the date of purchase. The items must be suitable for resale and in the original packaging.

Used items are non-returnable. Items that were purchased greater than 30 days but less than 60 days are returnable but subject to a 25% restocking fee. This fee is deducted from the credit issued to your credit card. Items purchased greater than 60 days are not refundable.  Purchases of Medical devices, including but not limited to, Respiratory Care Devices, Prescription Orthotics, TENS and Muscle Stimulation Devices, Exercise Equipment and Home Diagnostic Equipment may be returned for a complete refund if the product is damaged or defective. Used products that are not defective and that are prescription devices (eg orthotics) or that go on the skin or touches the skin during normal use cannot be returned as they cannot be restocked for cross infection purposes.

Returns Process

If you wish to return an item, simply email customer service anytime and include the receipt number, item number, and quantity you wish to return.  Within 2 days you will receive your Return Authorisation number as well as the return shipping address to ship the item. Write the Return Authorisation number on a prepaid shipping label and return the item to the location provided.

Exchanges Of Damaged Or Defective Items

Spectrum Health and The Physio Company can exchange items only if they are defective or damaged within 30 days of purchase. To exchange an item call (016799685) to notify us.

Prior to your first appointment, it is important that you keep track of the food you are eating to allow our Dietitian a greater insight into your dietary habits. Please print out this diet sheet and fill it out for at least 3 days before your first meeting with the dietitian.
