Sophie Govzman, Registered Dietitian


Qualification & Education

Sophie is a CORU Registered Dietitian with current membership of the INDI (Irish Nutrition and Dietetic Institute) and the Nutrition Society.

She completed her Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Human Nutrition and Dietetics jointly at Trinity College Dublin and Dublin Institute of Technology, during which she undertook extensive clinical placements within the Irish Health Service Executive (HSE).

Sophie has worked in hospital and community dietetic departments, and also has experience in food industry and in nutrition research.

For her undergraduate thesis, Sophie undertook research at the University of Hawaii Cancer Center where she looked at the associations between diet and physical activity in children of the Western Pacific Region.


Through her studies, placements and post-graduate work, Sophie has developed the expertise to provide tailored nutritional consultations and education for personal or group needs.

She has worked in a wide range of specialties including gastroenterology, renal disease, stroke, cardiology and malnutrition, and has experience dealing with complex conditions including gut health (IBS/IBD), pre- and post- surgical nutrition, weight management, obesity, allergies, heart disease, coeliac disease, food aversions, dementia/Alzheimer’s, paediatric nutrition and more.


Sophie is a firm believer that nutrition plays a pivotal role in physical, mental and emotional health. Through her work, Sophie strives to help people improve their relationship with food and their bodies so that they can focus on what matters most in life. This is why she emphasises the importance of listening to the patient’s story and working collaboratively to find what works for them. She believes in empowerment through nutrition education and giving people the tools they need to achieve the results they want.


Sophie has a profound interest in preventive medicine, holistic healthcare and plant-based nutrition, and keeps up to date with the latest nutrition research. Her personal interests include writing, reading, yoga, hiking, travelling and cooking (especially coming up with nutritious spins on classic recipes).
